My responsibilities included: reporting to the Department Chair, instructing students in accordance with College policy and procedures within the areas of Government. As part of my teaching requirement, taught two survey courses, which are United States and Texas State and Local Government. As an Associate Professor, I demonstrated creativity and innovation in the field of my profession and service in the community. As an Associate Professor, I understood the uniqueness of each of my students and the diverse background that they bring to my classroom. Austin Community College advises faculty that we have a comprehensive mission and philosophy set in place to illustrate the effectiveness of teaching at a community college. As an Associate Professor, it is my responsibility to have effective planning skills, team-building skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Due to the privacy policy and the aspect of confidentiality of student information, it is also my responsibility to handle this information with high importance and with tact and discretion. Basic essential responsibilities included ability use a personal computer; the world wide web, multi media equipment, etc.I also have the opportunity to teach Dual Credit Early College Start Classes in which I challenge my high school students to think at a level that separates them from their classmates and to inquire about circumstances pertaining to them as students, individuals and citizens of the United States.
