Teaching Experience

The instructor’s early career involved extensive experience in business.  He was vice president of operations for a Fortune 500 corporation, director of production for the Hawaii Newspaper Agency, and a management consultant.  He also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves during the Vietnam era.  Since taking early retirement, the instructor has pursued an interest in academics and teaching.  Over the past twenty years, he has taught college level courses in Human Geography, Political Science, World Civilizations, US History, Cultural Studies, Western Civilization, European History, and Supervisory Leadership in both university and military settings.  The instructor has taught at the following institutions of higher learning:  University of Hawaii-Manoa; Hawaii Pacific University;  Central Texas College; Concordia University; Kapiolani Community College and Austin Community College.  The instructor holds a BS in management, an MS in technology, and a PhD in history.
