Joe McDermott is the recipient of numerous awards for his compositions and recordings including: The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Two NAPPA Gold Awards, Three Parent's Choice Awards, Best Video game soundtrack for Lucas Art's Zombies Ate My Niehbors, best Cable Access TV Show and a John Phillip Sousa Award.
He has recorded 11 albums of his own music and has been producing albums and singles for other artists since 1984. He has written music for Stan and Jan Berenstain, Michael Eisner and worked as a composer for the legendary computer game music guru, The Fat Man.
2011: March release of "Kitty Fight Song" as a YouTube video and XM radio single. The video is currently receiving around 900 hits per week and the song (at the time of this writing) has been in the top 10 for 14 weeks. July release of client Caroline Lubin video "In My Eyes"- produced single and video. Released (TBA) Radiola CD (Joe's adult band) wrote, produced, engineered, and co-mixed with Mark McQuillken. Joe is currently producing Jamie Provenzano (audio), Caroline Lubin (audio/video), a fund-raising video for Seton Hospital and two videos for his own projects. Joe is also working on a series of videos demonstrating principals of audio recording.
2012: Produced student video "Set You Free"(see ACC music page). Produced a single for new video "Summer Song" that was released on Sirius/XM radio July 5th 2012. Currently building an audio/video studio to be ready for production October 2012. Continuing set building and art direction on current video productions. currently shooting video for "Summer Song" and Class project for Audio II.
2013: July- released "Summer Song" to Sirius/XM radio. Released Summer Song video on You Tube. August 28-Released "Rock and Roll Family" to Sirius/XM Radio. Beginning work on "Come To Hawaii" video using Hawaiian dance troup as well as begining annimations for future videos. Currently- learning After Effects Video special effects software.
2014: Several video projects started. finished recording/video studio and begining to advertise.
Completed recording CD entitled “Suspended Chords” by Jamie Provenzano. The album was recorded in my studio and Cedar Creek Recording Studio in Austin Texas. The album was recorded, produced and mixed by me. Did videpo for The Lost and Nameless Orchestra for March release.
2015: Produced a two song EP for Grace Selby. Working on a fall release of new children's album.
Released Children's book and album called Coconut Beach. Developing new class for ACC
2016: Created children's web show called Music City ATX and launched new booking agency called Front Door Concerts. Released the first 2 episodes of Music City ATX
2017: Continue to have success with Front Door Concerts. Working on scores fopr sympony performance with The Allen Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
2017: Learned Sibelius software. Made orchestral scores for 7 songs. Performed songs with the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra 10-21-17
2018: Did musical scores for Austin Symphony Orchestra for performance 7/25/18
