INSTRUCTOR: Ben Santana, R.Ph.

Ben Santana is a licensed pharmacist in Texas.  Mr. Santana received his pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy in 1991.  He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from St. Edward’s University in Austin in 1987.  Mr. Santana practiced pharmacy in and around the Austin area in both community and hospital settings for seven years before joining the Texas State Board of Pharmacy in September 1998.  

For the past twenty-seven years Mr. Santana has served with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) in various capacities.  Currently as Chief Pharmacist Officer of Special Projects, he serves as a resource specialist for the various agency departments, including serving as a pharmacy practice consultant for investigations involving alleged cases of harm or potential harm to a consumer provided pharmaceutical care services at a pharmacy. 


Teaching Experience

Mr. Santana has served as an Adjunct Instructor of Pharmacology for the Allied Health Sciences Department at Austin Community College since June 2003.
