Gained experience in lecturing while multiple American Sign Language interpreters were present. § Instructed a speech course for Austin Community College students. Designed course and all activities and developed assignments and exams that emphasized communication theory. The capstone project of this class was an informative speech that students strongly tied to communication concepts or theory. Presented and assigned all information, listened to, video-recorded and graded all presentations, journals, projects and papers. Classroom topics investigated included racism, ethnocentric bias, and gender stereotypes, and often required intense classroom management skills to maintain a safe environment for discussion, exploration, and learning.
