Course Requirements

Course Description

Instruction in writing for digital experiences for different needs and goals. Exploration of best practices for creating written messaging and evaluating its effectiveness.

Course Rationale, Objectives

By the end of this course, the students will have a strong understanding of the necessary skills to obtain a professional position in the field of UX Writing.

Course Prerequisites

UXUI 1372 and UXUI 2376. Must also have completed or be concurrently enrolled in MATH 1342.

Required Online Resources

Blackboard – to find all project and course related information, submit projects, and view grades

Miro – to share work and participated in critique

Figma – to design user interfaces

ACC Google Apps: including calendar, docs and drive

 

Tools

A computer capable of running the software above (or access to computers on ACC campus)

If you’re attending remotely: a high speed internet connection, webcam, and microphone

Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives

What you’ll learn to do by the end of this course: 

  • Understand clarity, accessibility, inclusivity, and ethics in UX writing.
  • Apply microcopy techniques across digital products.
  • Collaborate across disciplines with designers and developers.
  • Write effectively for both traditional and AI-driven user interfaces.

 

What you’ll learn to do by the end of the UX program: 

  • Produce prototypes for software applications using industry standard methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Apply a user centered design process in the creation of software applications.
  • Design and develop responsive layouts for multi-device, and multi-channel applications.
  • Prove proficiency in team collaboration.
  • Develop proficiency in the presentation, design, and delivery of a UX portfolio to demonstrate professionalism.
