Course Requirements

  • Coursework includes weekly readings and videos, project milestones, exams, and online participation activities.
  • Blackboard serves as the primary platform for all course activities and submissions.
  • No prior construction management experience is required.
  • This course focuses on foundational construction management practices, including project team roles, construction documentation, jobsite layout, meetings and dispute resolution, labor and safety management, quality control, and environmental stewardship.

  • Explain the roles and responsibilities of construction project team members throughout the construction process
  • Interpret construction documents, project communication procedures, and common construction administration practices
  • Describe jobsite layout, field coordination, operational planning, and project control procedures used during construction
  • Apply professional communication skills during meetings, project coordination activities, negotiations, and dispute resolution scenarios
  • Identify labor management responsibilities, workforce coordination practices, and jobsite safety requirements used in construction management
  • Explain quality management, inspection procedures, and corrective action processes used during construction operations
  • Describe environmental stewardship, sustainability considerations, and regulatory responsibilities related to construction projects
