  • Coursework includes weekly readings and videos, project milestones, exams, and online participation activities.
  • Blackboard serves as the primary platform for all course activities and submissions.
  • This course builds advanced skills in construction project administration and jobsite management. Students examine the systems, documentation, and managerial processes required to successfully administer a construction project from pre-mobilization through closeout.

Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives

  • Explain the role of the construction manager in coordinating project documentation, field operations, and jobsite administration throughout a construction project
  • Interpret and manage common construction administration documents, including submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, meeting documentation, and field reports
  • Describe procurement procedures for subcontractors, materials, equipment, and construction services used during project execution
  • Apply jobsite documentation and record-keeping practices to support project communication, coordination, tracking, and decision-making processes
  • Evaluate contract changes, change orders, delays, and construction claims, and explain the procedures used to manage project impacts
  • Analyze project cost control methods, schedule coordination practices, and construction progress tracking procedures
  • Explain the purpose, organization, and review process of construction pay applications and progress payment documentation
  • Identify the procedures and documentation required for project closeout, including inspections, punch lists, warranties, and turnover documentation
  • Use digital construction management tools such as Microsoft Excel and Procore to organize, track, and communicate project information
  • Demonstrate advanced construction management skills through project milestones, applied project scenarios, and construction administration activities related to real-world project coordination and jobsite management
