The grade for this course will be based on participation, reflection assignments, quizzes, and the RC/CS functional areas (4-7).
Grading Breakdown (200 Points Total)
- Participation (30%): 60 points
- Two Reflection Assignments: 20 points (10 points each)

Course Subjects
This course focuses on understanding physical and intellectual development in children, particularly from birth to age five. Through lectures, hands-on activities, and discussions, participants will learn about child development theories, creating supportive environments, and engaging families.
Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of CDEC 2324, the student will:
1. Competency Area IV: Understanding Families
- Develop strategies to establish positive and productive relationships with families.
- Demonstrate effective communication techniques for engaging families in their child’s development and learning process.
