How to Be Successful!
The way to ge successful in this course would be:
-
Understanding time management - since I allow the assignments to be due at the end of the semester, please do not allow the work to snowball on you. I will encourage students to stay up with the class based on the weekly schedule. The benefit of this is to allow unforeseen problems not to deter you from completing them and putting you under unnecessary stress. I want you to be successful.
-
Utilizing your resources - I have helpful videos in Blackboard that will walk you through all the assignments; I will encourage you to review them when trying to complete your OHM assignments.
-
Communication - please reach out to me when needed; I'm available during the day by email and on Zoom on Thursday nights.
Course Requirements
A study of analyzing, classifying, and recording business transactions in a manual and computerized environment. Emphasis on understanding the complete accounting cycle and preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, payroll, and budgeting. Preparation of financial statements for both a merchandising and manufacturing company. This course is taught from a users' point of view. It is a survey of both financial and managerial accounting.
Communication
I will host Zoom meetings weekly for students to get questions answered; the first meeting is mandatory because I want students to get a feel for the course before we get into the swing of the semester.
Once the semester gets started, I will host the Thursday night Zoom Office hours from 7 to 8p.
I'm also available during the day via Google Chat; please use your ACC Email account to send me a request to chat.
