Course Requirements
This 12-week online course is presented asynchronously. You may access and complete the coursework at a time convenient for you; however, you must also adhere to the assignment due dates for the course so there is a structure to observe. That said, you do have leeway to structure your time and complete all assignments and submit them for grading before the end of the course. Most of this course is presented by video with some written lecture. Written assignments are based on this material. This is an activity course so you are expected to practice the stretching routines, ask questions, participate in the discussion board, demonstrate knowledge of the course material through your answers to written assignments and online interaction with the course instructor.
Please turn in assigned work on time as best you can. We both have to keep up! I do not count off for work turned in late but do not take my lenient attitude as a reason to procrastinate and not keep up timely with the course.
Technology required: A computer, a laptop, or a tablet is best for viewing this course. Your phone screen is so small that it is not going to be enjoyable for you to use to view videos and you will find it tedious and unpleasant.
Communication: Keep in touch with me often via my ACC email: dleidig@austincc.edu Particularly let me know if you have any struggles or issues impacting your ability to keep up with the course work. NOTE: If there is an extended time where assignments are not turned in and you have not communicated with me, you may be dropped from the course. I prefer NOT to do this. You can be successful in this course and learn things that you will use in your life to keep active and mobile. Let’s just do this!
Equipment needed:

Students will learn injury prevention approaches to safeguard their stretch/flex practice.
AI Policy
The use of generative AI (GAI) is permitted in this course under certain conditions to enhance learning while maintaining academic integrity.
GAI is permitted to foster technological fluency and to leverage advanced tools for research, as long as it does not not substitute for critical thinking and learning.
Generative AI encompasses technologies that create content through learned patterns and data without direct human input.
GAI can be used for initial research, idea generation, and for editing purposes only. It is not to be used for final submissions unless explicitly cited and discussed.
ASSESSMENTS: Contributions of GAI must be clearly cited and will be assessed on the student's ability to critically analyze and integrate the AI-generated content.
PENALTIES; Misuse of GAI, including a failure to cite, will be considered a breach of academic integrity, with consequences including a failing grade for the assignment and academic review.
EXCEPTIONS: Should the technology be required as an accommodation, exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
