Course Requirements

Martial Arts Conditioning-A comprehensive physical conditioning course, which includes calisthenics, plyometrics with medicine balls and strength and speed drills. Prepares and/or supplements conditioning for all forms of martial arts. A white Gi, which is a martial arts uniform, is required (information will be given the first day of class). 

40% (40 points) attendance 40% (40 points) participation 10% (10 points) notebook 10% (10 points) written test(s)

MA Conditioning: The Martial Arts Athlete, Seaborne, YMAA Publications,1886969655 (recommended but not required)

Notebook – information & format will be discussed on the first day of class.

1.To learn the rules, fundamentals, skills and strategies of self defense & martial arts conditioning.

2. To learn how to correctly execute required skills and techniques as well as to use the equipment/facilities safely.

3. To understand how Kinesiology relates to a healthy individual lifestyle.

Course Objectives: MA Conditioning

  1. To understand the structure, physiological, and performance aspects of conditioning.
  2. To improve physical fitness, balance and strength through conditioning as well as understanding the relationship between conditioning and martial arts.
