This advanced course includes the proper manipulation of equipment, positioning and alignment of the anatomical structure and equipment, and evaluation of images for proper demonstration of advanced anatomy and related pathology.
The rationale of this course is to prepare for the national credentialing examination and to enter the workforce as an entry-level radiographer. ARRT Radiography exam content specifications can be located on the ARRT website.
Course Subjects
This course utilizes classroom instruction with a lab component. Class activities may include lecture, imaging labs, skills labs, quizzes, group work or other activities to reinforce learning. Course material may include assigned readings, videos, handouts, and external web links to Youtube videos or 3D models. All handouts, multimedia content, and web-links to outside content are provided via the Blackboard Platform. Laboratory instruction includes demonstration of radiographic positioning and procedures and manipulation of radiographic equipment.

Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives
Common Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify and describe the terminology utilized in radiographic imaging
- Identify and describe the radiographic anatomy of the human body
- Identify and describe positioning criteria used for advanced radiographic procedures
- Based on evaluation criteria, determine the acceptability of a radiographic image
- Demonstrate equipment manipulation and positioning of patients to produce diagnostic images using the simulated lab environment
