Course Requirements
Evaluation Methods
Labs
In order to succeed in the laboratory, students must complete the required reading and comprehend the related topics before starting the lab. As all projects receive a completion grade, all objectives must be completed in order to earn the credit. Each student’s outcome is evaluated on the individual basis. Face-to-face sections require all lab work to be done in class. The lab average comprises 40% of the final grade.
Exams
Two exams are administered, with the course material divided between them. The two exams are offered mid-semester and at the semester end. Tentative exam dates are posted on the Blackboard; due to the all-lab nature of the course, the exact exam dates are announced as the class completes the lab projects. The exam average comprises 50% of the final grade.
Classroom Participation
Regular attendance and participation in the course activities are expected. This credit isn’t granted if more than 10% of the classroom time is missed (more than three absences in Spring/Fall, more than one absence in Summer). Classroom participation comprises 10% of the final grade.
