Successfully complete examinations: There will be (2) examinations, a combination of multiple choice and true/false. Test material will come from your textbook. You are required to take the exam online by the date indicated on the calendar. There will not be a make-up exam. There is NOT a comprehensive Final Exam. Each of these exams is worth 100 pts a total of 200 pts.
Attendance/Participation: It is your responsibility to log on at least three different times on three different days to check on announcements. Failure to do so is not a valid excuse for late assignments.
- Mind Tap: You will complete your work in Mind Tap. Each chapter divides as such:
- Activity (1) is to answer a question worth 5pts. Objective is to connect topics from the chapter to everyday life and the world around you.
- Activity (2) Learn It: Chapter Video Case worth 10pts. Objective is to become familiar with key concepts of the chapter as they are presented in real life situations and take the assessments.
- Activity (3) You decide Part I-Choose your Path worth 6pts. Objective is to apply your knowledge as your role play in scenarios specific to Criminal Justice.
- Activity (4) You decide Part II-Justify your choices worth 15pts. Objective is to justify your decisions by applying key concepts to defend your choices.
- Activity (5) Chapter quiz worth 20pts. Objective is 20 study questions that help you remember the basics of the chapter.
- Activity (6) Outside Activities worth 10 pts. Objective is to learn more about ethics enhancing the textbook. There are 10 different activities used throughout the semester. These activities are scenario based. Please keep an eye on announcements.
- Initial orientation 50pts
- Introduction-Discussion Board 50pts
The total points to earn for this course is 1084pts.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze the process of making ethical decisions
- Compare and contrast philosophies related to ethics
- Define key concepts related to ethics
- Evaluate methods used to address ethical misconduct in society
- Examine ethics in the criminal justice system
- Explain the impact of ethical decisions
- Explain the relationship between values, morals, ethics, and critical thinking
