Course Description

Business Ethics Course Description:  This course is an examination of ethical issues and dilemmas facing contemporary businesses.  The course covers management's ethical and social responsibilities and the need for an awareness of social responsibility in management practices and business activities.  The course covers ethical responsibilities and relationships between organizational departments, divisions, executive management, and ethical corporate responsibility.

6. Articulate issues in business ethics, the ethical business environment and their potential effect on personal, managerial and corporate decisions

 

 


Instructional Methodology

This Business Ethics course is taught in a fully online, asynchronous format. Course instruction and tests are online.  The COLLEGE MANDATORY Introduction and Orientation Information is accessible in Blackboard on the first day of  the course. Both the Introduction and Orientation Information must be submitted during the first week and by the posted deadline in Blackboard.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) Policy Statement:The use of generative AI (GAI) technologies is strictly prohibited to preserve academic integrity and ensure the development of student competencies.

Withdrawal Policy

Withdrawal Policy:  It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that their name is removed from the roll should they decide to withdraw from this course.  The instructor, however, reserves the right to drop a student should he or she feel it necessary.  If a student decides to withdraw, they should verify that the withdrawal is submitted before the final withdrawal date.  The student is strongly encouraged to retain a copy of the withdrawal form for their record.  Students who enroll in the course for the third time or subsequent time since fall 2002 may be charged a higher tuition rate for that course.  State law permits students to withdraw from no more than six courses during their entire undergraduate career at Texas public colleges or universities.  With certain exceptions, all course withdrawals automatically count toward this limit.  Details regarding this policy can be found in the ACC College Catalog.  The last day to withdraw from this Business Ethics course is Monday, April 27, 2026.
