Course Requirements

How will you be graded in this course?
Your grade will be based on a scale of 1000 earned points, but there are 1030 points possible.

Survey: Complete the survey to help me better serve your needs. Points earned: 5

Class Meetings:  be in attendance at each class meeting, submit in-class worksheets, and participate enthusiastically. Earn 15 points for each 15 class meetings (total = 225).

Quizzes: Test your knowledge of what you have learned in each module. Quizzes are entirely online with multiple choice, matching, true/false, and fill in the blank questions. You are allowed to take each quiz three times before the due date. There are 15 quizzes worth 40 points each (total = 600 points). Maximize your scores by taking each quiz three times!!
Exercises: There will be five applied knowledge assignments. These will include a Punnett Square exercise, a Dating Techniques assignment, and three AI Conversations with a personal reflection. Each exercise will be worth up to 40 points (200 total possible points).
 

How to earn the best grade
1. Read all instructions, tutorials, sample work, and grading rubrics.
2. You are responsible for understanding how you will be graded. ASK ME if you have any questions!!
3. Complete all assignments on time and to your best ability to earn as many points as possible.
4. Don’t forget to check your work for spelling and/or grammatical errors.
5. Be sure to properly cite your sources and provide a bibliography/works cited section to your assignments.
6. Submit your work on time.
7. I will not round up grades. If you earn 699 points, your grade will be a D.
8. Extra credit is never offered.
9. You can earn more than 1000 points; this will provide a cushion for your final grade.

List the principle methods and theories used in physical  anthropology

Evaluate competing explanations of human origins and  development

Appreciate how human diversity contributes to our evolutionary adaptation

Relate the evolutionary processes that have changed our species through time.

Refine critical thinking skills through the use of inferential and scientific reasoning.
