Grading Policy

A mid-session deadline requires that the first 4 modules and the exams for those 4 modules be completed by mid-session. If this requirement is not met, you will receive a grade of a "0" for those modules and exams not turned in by mid-session. If two or more modules and exams are missing, you will be withdrawn fro lack of progress. Mid-session for this class is October 19, 2024.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn the purpose and business uses for a database and become familiar with database terminology.
  • Demonstrate the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification skill set.

 

SCANS:

The following are skills that you will acquire from this course. These are skills that have been identified by industry as being necessary to success in the labor market. An example is given by each skill.

  • Creative Thinking—use knowledge to create, store, retrieve, and delete files using the desktop, My Documents, and/or a flash.
  • Decision Making—use knowledge to decide how to utilize communications and scheduling with maximum efficiency.
  • Problem solving—use Help system to figure out how to accomplish tasks such as flagging e-mail, screening junk mail, calendar coloring.
  • Interpret Information—read textual information and then apply it to make the best use of computer technology.
  • Select Technology—choose appropriate procedures, tools, or equipment to accomplish tasks.
