Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives

Students will explore concepts in visual literacy and apply those theories using mobile media applications to create and manage visual content.

There are no course prerequisites for this class.

Catalog Description
The purpose of this class is to teach technical proficiency and visual fluency in the concepts and practice of contemporary visual communication. Students must have an approved digital camera capable of capturing still and motion images to create and work with visual media.

· Visual Literacy as it Relates to Photography

· Mobile Applications as a Tool to Create Media

Grading Policy

Grading is based on quizzes, class projects, and final projects/portfolio. Additionally, participation in department-wide Portfolio Reviews is required for this course.

· All course related communication will be sent to your ACC email address and most homework assignments are completed online through Blackboard. Please seek technical support through the Help Desk if you encounter any difficulties.

Coursework will consist of multiple modes of inquiry such as class assignments, peer reviews, and a final portfolio.
