Course Requirements

GRADES will be divided amongst the following online activities/participation: There will be a total of 230 possible points earned in this class, not including extra credit.  The grading will be based on 1 Orientation Scavenger Hunt assignment (15 points), 1 Contact Theory Paper (25 points), 15 Discussion Board posts (150 points), and 4 Journals (40 points).

Berger, K.S. (2020). The developing person through the Life Span, (12th ed.). Worth Publishers.


Course Subjects

This course will cover the theory and research of human development throughout the lifespan.


Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives

COMMON COURSE OBJECTIVES/ STUDENT OUTCOMES:

The students in this course will be able:

· To discuss biological development throughout the entire lifespan, from prenatal development through death and dying.

· To discuss cognitive development throughout the entire lifespan, from prenatal development through death and dying.

· To discuss psychological/psychosocial development throughout the entire lifespan, from prenatal development through death and dying.

 

PROGRAM LEVEL LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Understand psychological concepts and be able to recognize them in real-world contexts.
  • Acquire a basic understanding of major perspectives in the field.
  • Gain an awareness of the breadth of the academic discipline of psychology.
  • Understand the various research methods Psychologists use and critically evaluate evidence.
