Course Requirements
PREREQUISITES
HART 1401, HART 1403, and HART 1407.
REQUIRED MATERIALS/STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
•Students need to register and obtain a registration card before they can perform the internship.•Students will obtain their registration card from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)

Meet with your HART instructor at the beginning of the semester. Call the department and notify your instructor if, for any reason, you are unable to make the first and second scheduled meetings. Phone numbers to call are (512)-223-6105 and (512)-223-6106. Students that fail to do so will be withdrawn
.•Prepare a resume’ that indicates past and present work experience and education & training, chronologically arranged beginning with the most recent (be brief). If you have a preference, indicate residential A/C; commercial A/C; industrial A/C; commercial refrigeration. Add to your resume’ your contact information and availability.
•The instructor will make arrangements to introduce the student to the proper personnel at the cooperating firm. It is the students’ responsibility to work out an agreeable schedule with the HVACR firm to achieve the required number of hours.
•The student is expected to engage in activities with an HVACR company from 80 to 112 hours.The student must agree to adhere to all company policies and proceduresregarding punctuality, dress, work ethic, etc. It is expected that satisfactorycompetition of a drug test and acceptable driving record or criminal history maybe required.
•The student is responsible for preparing a Daily Job/Work Order Summary, whichcan be obtained from the instructor. This form is to be completed by the student and signed by the Student Supervisor for each job or each day’s assignments.
•The student is responsible for submitting to their ACC instructor one copy of each Daily Job/Work Order summery monthly. Discuss this with your instructor.
Company Evaluation of Student
Upon completion of the Internship, the Student Supervisor, the Service Manager, or Owner will evaluate the student
completing the Company Evaluation of Student form. The student is required to provide this form to the company. The completed form should then be return to the ACC HART Department
Attendance/Class Participation/ Professionalism
•Regular and punctual class attendance is expected of all students. If attendance or compliance with other course policies is unsatisfactory, the instructor may withdraw students from the class.
•After 3 unexcused absences in a row or 5 absences overall, the instructor may withdraw students from the course.
•3 unexcused tardies will be counted as 1 unexcused absence. Students are expected to arrive no later than 5 minutes after class starts.
•Please notify the instructor ahead of time (if feasible) if you are going to miss class. If you cannot communicate before the absence, then make sure you communicate as soon as possible after so the instructor can determine if it is excused or not.
•Dress code: HART classes are a representation of the workforce and students will need to dress accordingly. Students are expected to wear long pants like blue jeans or similar material (no sweat pants or pajama pants), closed toed shoes, and a T-shirt.
Withdrawal Policy
It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that his or her name is removed from the rolls should they decide to withdraw from the class. The instructor does, however, reserve the right to drop a student should he or she feel it is necessary. If a student decides to withdraw, he or she should also verify that the withdrawal is recorded before the Final Withdrawal Date. The Final Withdrawal Date for this semester is Monday April 22, 2024. The student is also strongly encouraged to keep any paperwork in case a problem arises. Students are responsible for understanding the impact that withdrawal from a course may
have on their financial aid, veterans’ benefits, and international student status. Per state law, students enrolling for the first time in Fall 2007 or later at any public Texas college or university may not withdraw (receive a “W”) from more than six courses during their undergraduate college education. Some exemptions for good cause could allow a student to withdraw from a course without having it count toward this limit. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor when making decisions about course selection, course loads, and course withdrawals.”
