Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives

Course Description: 

Students will learn and apply knowledge of basic nursing skills to the care of adult patients. This course is in preparation for starting level 1 in the ADN program. 

Course Learning Outcomes:

In order to complete Nursing Skills I, the student must be able to meet the following objectives:

1.    Describe concepts and principles that are basic to the safe performance of nursing skills.

2.    Demonstrate competence in the performance of nursing procedures.

3.    Communicate clearly the English language in speaking, reading, and writing during performance and evaluation of nursing procedures and simulated nurse-patient interactions.

4.    Demonstrate the values of the nursing profession.
