Course Requirements

Students must have completed Audio 1 before taking Audio 2, and must have demonstrated a basic understanding of concepts including EQ, Dynamic Processing, Signal Flow, and Temporal Processing.

REQUIRED TEXTBOOK: Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Handbook, Davis & Jones (Hal Leonard)


Course Subjects

A continuation of Audio Engineering I with an emphasis on the hands-on implementation of the techniques and theories of the mixing and recording processes. Topics include mixing, signal processing, microphones & mic technique, using the audio console and patchbay, and Pro Tools.


Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives

Students will demonstrate the use of appropriate signal routing techniques, microphone selection and placement, and signal processing in a variety of contexts, and will also plan and execute a multi- track recording and mixing project with a partner (this project will be updated for remote learning).
