Course Requirements

To introduce students to a broad range of network-related topics including protocols, transmission media, architecture, hardware, and operating systems. In addition, students will study elements of network maintenance, security, and troubleshooting.

Approved Course Texts/Readings:

CompTIA Network +, West, Cengage learning, ISBN: 978-0-357-50813-8.  This text is online in Cengage.  The link is in Blackboard.


Course Subjects

Course Description:  Instruction in networking technologies and their implementation. Topics include the OSI reference model, network protocols, transmission media, and networking hardware and software. We will be integrating Cengage Mindtap into this course so everyone will need to NOT opt out of it. Your tuition costs cover the digital book using the Cengage MindTap link in our class. This class is an in-person section.  Regular and punctual class and lab attendance is expected of all students.
