I normally respond to all emails/messages within 24 hours (though possible with a longer delay over weekends or holidays). If you do not receive a response from me during that time frame, please try sending another message. My office hours are indicated above. Kindly make good use of it. All class communication will be done through ACC email and Blackboard. Be sure to check your ACC email and Blackboard Announcement in a timely manner.

Two Announcements (at least) will be sent out every week. Be sure to check your ACC email and Blackboard Announcement in a timely manner. The first weekly announcement will be posted on every Sunday evening, providing a suggested study plan of the week. The second announcement will be posted on every Thursday evening, reminding all the deadlines/suggested tasks of the week. This is a 5-week course, so the workload is MUCH heavier than your regular 16-week course. You should expect up to 10 hours/week to study, read notes and PowerPoints, watch videos and get all necessary assignments done. All contents will be on Blackboard on 07/01/2023 and the course starts on 07/03/2023. You are highly encouraged to work ahead.

Orientation Quiz (Required):

In order to continue this course, you must earn at least 80% on the orientation quiz in MindTap under the caption GETTING STARTED. There are three tests under the Getting Started. Do all of them. The orientation quiz covers the content in this syllabus and how to navigate through MindTap, so make sure you have familiarized yourself with this syllabus before attempting the quiz. The quiz must be completed with a score of at least 80% by midnight on Sunday, 07/02/2023, in order to continue in the course. Otherwise you will be marked as “absent” and will be withdrawn from the course. Your score on the quiz does NOT count towards your semester grade.

*MindTap Homework and Exam*

There will be 10 regular homework assignments, each one at the end of every chapter and TWO exams. There will be NO Homework on chapters marked *. There will be one mid-term exam and one final exam. A forthcoming exam reminder will be announced at least a week in advance. No make-up quizzes or tests will be given. Any unexcused absence from an exam counts as an “F.”

Midterm exam will be open from 07/21 (Fri) and closed on the midnight of 07/23 (Sun) for you to take. Midterm is open-books or open note, 50 multiple choice questions and only ONE attempt. Once you start, you must finish the exam. If you go out of the exam, you will not be allowed to continue again and it will automatically submit and grade you.

A comprehensive final exam will be open on blackboard on 8/04/2023(Fri) and closed on the midnight of 8/05/2023(Sat). It includes 50 multiple-choice questions. The final exam is Open-books and Open-notes.
