Course Requirements
An introduction to Cisco basic router configuration for local area networks and wide area networks. Topics include initial router configuration for TCP/IP, IP addressing techniques, management of the router configuration, backup of router configuration files, and intermediate routing protocols.
Course Requirements
There are 3 exam and Activities that represent the total graded. Exams scheduled priory to the due receive full credit.
Exam past due date or retakes are also available however the total credit will be maximized at 80% credit.

Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives
- Explain the process of packet delivery between different L3 networks and understand the necessity of packet routing
- Describe hardware and software components of a router
- Explain and manage boot process of a router
- Perform basic configuration of the IOS
- Configure Ethernet and serial interfaces for IP communications
- Compare static and dynamic routing
- Manage and interpret routing tables
- Plan and configure static routes
- Understand internal mechanics of RIP, RIPv2, OSPF, and EIGRP
- Implement dynamic routing using RIP, RIPv2, OSPF, ad EIGRP
- Troubleshoot IP connectivity using network utilities and router commands
- Configure DHCP and NAT within routed environment
- Implement packet filtering using ACLs
