Final Project:
Create a collection of 6 fashion Figures, in full color rendering. Create Flat sketches for all items in the collection. Provide a report explaining your inspiration, and target demographic for your collection. This project will be presented to the class for discussion & feedback.

No late projects will be accepted
Projects are due on the date designated by the instructor in class. The dates will also be sent as a blackboard announcement.
All projects MUST be attempted. Late projects will be accepted with a grade deduction penalty of 15 points. Plan accordingly.
Course Subjects
The Fashion Design program prepares students for careers in fashion related fields. Creative studies in design fundamentals, fashion analysis, fashion history, textiles, color, and sketching, along with technical training in draping, pattern making, pattern grading, and clothing construction provide the training required for entry-level employment.
Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives
Fundamentals of quick sketching to communicate design ideas. Instruction in drawing the male and female fashion figure. Emphasis on simple methods for making quick sketches to illustrate style information.
Illustrate the exaggerated proportions of the fashion figure. Develop a personal fashion sketching style. Report on historical styles of art and document various fashion illustration styles. Execute drawings of various clothing details in various fabric textures, weight and patterns. Create detailed and properly scaled specification drawings for clothing production.
Grading
Class Work = 20% of Final grade
Daily Participation, being prepared and on time for class, collaboration with fellow students, work completed during class and meetings with professor
Homework Assignments = 16% of Final grade Weekly Sketching Practice total of 8 weeks (each assignment is 2% of final grade)
Project Assignments = 44% of Final grade
4 assignments as listed above in red.
(each assignment is 11% of final grade)
Final Project = 20% of Final grade
Final Collection project assigned in Lesson 13.

important covid information
IMPORTANT COVID PROCEDURES AND INFORMATION
Austin Community College District (ACC) continues to monitor the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and any potential impact it may have on our college community.
In response to the increasing concerns of COVID-19 across the nation, ACC has developed these mitigation guidelines for classroom (in-person) instruction. These mitigation guidelines will be used as requirements for all classroom (in person) instruction including courses, training or instruction. All classroom (in person) instruction will be approved by an ACC panel that includes instructional and safety experts.
ACC COVID-19 mitigation requirements (from ACC and CDC):
- Practice social distancing by avoiding crowded areas and keeping 6 feet of distance from others.
- Facial coverings are required at all times while in the classroom and common areas.
- Wash your hands frequently, using soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Cover your mouth with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing.

Do not enter an ACC building and stay home if you have any of the following new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Chills
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Loss of taste or smell
- Diarrhea
- Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
- Known close contact with a person who has been lab confirmed with in the past 14 days to have COVID-19
- Contact your healthcare provider and notify your instructor or supervisor if you have a confirmed case of COVID-19 or if you have any of the signs or symptoms list above.
- Require hand washing prior to and after class.
- Require use of hand sanitizer as needed to prevent infection throughout the course time.
- Limit in-person attendance to 10 or fewer participants (Total participants 10, including instructors).
- Ensure that a safe distance (minimum 6 feet) is maintained between all students and between students and instructors at all times.
- In the classroom, ensure a minimum of 6 feet between all students at all times.
- Alter schedules - Stagger classroom times and dates as needed to ensure social distancing, mitigation requirements and to limit attendees to 10.
- Require daily documentation of attendees.
- Required up-to-date contact information for all attendees and instructors.
- Require reporting of all illnesses and issues associated with the course to instructors (with a specific concern about COVID-19 issues).
- Instructors are required to report all COVID-19 associated illnesses or issues to their supervisor, Department Chair, Dean and ACC Safety & Environmental Management
